MOSH & MOAH Testing |

MOSH & MOAH testing is a specialized analytical test used to detect and quantify mineral oil hydrocarbons present in edible oils.

  • MOSH (Mineral Oil Saturated Hydrocarbons) consist mainly of aliphatic and cyclic saturated hydrocarbons that may accumulate in human tissues.

  • MOAH (Mineral Oil Aromatic Hydrocarbons) contain aromatic compounds, some of which are considered potentially genotoxic and carcinogenic, making them a significant food safety concern.

Purpose of MOSH & MOAH Testing |

MOSH & MOAH testing is conducted to:

  • Verify compliance with international market requirements, especially for export

  • Identify contamination sources in processing, storage, or transportation.

  • Support quality control and risk assessment

  • Meet buyer, brand owner, and regulatory expectations
